Mission to Patras for the young water players of the schools of N.O. Vouliagmenis

On Saturday, October 19, the children of the first water polo teams of the Athletic Schools (ages under 9 and under 11 years old) travelled to Patras, where they were hosted by the Patras Yacht Club at the Patras National Swimming Pool, as part of the joint preparation of the two teams.

The mission of the Vouliagmeni Yacht Club team had an excellent participation with 60 young athletes in Patras on Saturday morning 19/10. The children of N.O.V. met and trained with fellow athletes of N.O.P.

On Saturday, after the end of their evening training, the younger athletes returned to Athens, while 17 athletes - children of the pre-mini team - stayed overnight at the hostels of N.O.P. to participate in joint training sessions on Sunday morning.

The mission in Patras is a very important part of the coaching and educational process followed by N.O.B., especially in the younger age groups, where it “marries” athletic development with the development of an integrated personality. It is a particularly important experience for the children, since it cultivates in this way - along with their contact with the sport of water polo - independence, autonomy, the strengthening of relations with the team and the coaching team, and their trust in the N.O.B.It is particularly characteristic that despite the fact that the younger age groups travelled to Patras on the same day to participate in two training sessions, the children were very happy and expressed great enthusiasm for their participation.

The Vouliagmeni Yacht Club would like to thank from the bottom of its heart the Administration of the N.O. of Patras as well as the parents of the athletes of the N.O.P. for their hospitality. We are looking forward to soon to reciprocate in the facilities of N.O.V.!
