The authentic winter crossing of the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club was organized with absolute success on Sunday, December 4, in the idyllic landscape of Vouliagmeni Bay, for 17th time. V.N.C. was flooded with swimmers, their companions and ordinary visitors who wanted to take part in the great celebration of winter swimming.
The successful match had long been made sold out and 500 people honored their title as winter swimmers, amateurs or not, to compete in the 3 different courses of the track: 750, 1,500 and 3,000 meters. The weather was an ally of this year's Diaplos, which was dominated by good mood and the appetite for swimming.
The organization of the Diaplos gave great importance to ασφάλεια of swimmers, so that they can give their best in the demanding conditions of winter swimming. In this context, it is worth noting that this year, in addition to the sea swimming track which had a rich signaling with luminous buoys for the convenience of swimmers, all athletes were required to use personal buoy.
For this reason, Lifeguard Hellas, the most highly trained and experienced team of lifeguards in Greece, was at the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club, providing 20 of its most experienced lifeguards, who, with floating equipment of the NOV, were near the swimmers, in the water, to support them, if necessary.
The President of the V.N.C. , Mrs. Stella Lazarou-Tiga stated regarding Diaplou: "It is the 17th This is the year that the Vouliagmeni Sailing Club's Diaplous is organized, which is the authentic winter diaplous of our country. I am touched by the love people have for this race, given that this year it was also held sold out. It is obvious and undeniable that winter swimming has ardent supporters and enthusiasts. From our side, we encourage them and will continue to give them stimuli to continue their involvement with the sea. Finally, I would like to congratulate everyone who participated, and see you again for the next Diaplou!»
The event venue hosted people who enjoyed music and were moved by the Greta Lymberopoulou, which took on the presentation of the race, encouraging the athletes.
The Coca–Cola 3Ε was at the race site early on, providing refreshing Avra mineral water to all attendees, as well as Amita juices for stimulation before or after the race.
The Italian restaurant was also found near Diaplou Vincenzo, which treated participants to nutritious pasta salads in incredible recipes.
A crowd of supporters was at the venue on Sunday of the match: the sportswear company BlackMile, which provided the winners with its impressive swimming caps as gifts.
The "Biomedical Group» provided medical coverage for the race, with a fully equipped ambulance, staffed with medical personnel and rescuers. Biomedicine also rewarded the winners of the event with a full check-up!
The company was present at the event. OneZipper, which donated towels to the distinguished swimmers.
A big supporter of the race was also the Herbalife Nutrition, which stood out in the field with its nutritious protein bars, but also starred in the awarding of rich gifts to the athletes who stood out.
Still, the Turbo Hellas attended the important event and distributed rich gifts to the winners.
Gifts of luxurious towels with the logo of the race and V.N.C. were given to all winners by the company Kirpoglou Premium Textiles.
The company also offered valuable gifts to the winners for personal care. Leousis SA.
VNC offered participants and attendees nutritious and warm fish soupafter the match!
It should be noted that for another year the Vouliagmeni Crossing was organized under the auspices of the Municipality of Vari Voula Vouliagmeni.
Finally, for the successful holding of the 17th Winter Crossing participated on the day of the event with passion 30 volunteers: athletes and coaches of the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club, demonstrating in practice their professionalism, teamwork and dedication to V.N.C.
In memory of the pioneer of the Diaplos, Lilas Kolokotroni, which introduced our members to winter swimming 19 years ago, was awarded honorary plaque to her son, Orestis Kampanis.

The best time of the race from all men's age categories was achieved by Kotzakonstantinou Giorgos from the 50-59 category (00:10:15.979) and from the women's category by Liakopoulou Kelly (00:10:59.389) from the 40-49 category.
1,500 meters without wetsuit
The best time of the race from all men's age categories was achieved by Inglezos Christos from the 30-39 category (00:23:09.700) and from the women's category, Bykoff Mania (00:25:45.580) from the 50-59 category.
3,000 meters without wetsuit
The best time of the race from all men's age categories was achieved by Gotzias Dimitris from the 30-39 category (00:40:50.790) and from the women's category, Kouveli Vicky (00:41:08.400) from the 50-59 category.
