Great success for the Laser team of NOB that returns from the European Championship with the Silver Medal!
In Gdynia, Poland, the Laser 4,7 team travelled to participate in the European Championship U18 and U16 with a very large participation of 162 boats!
The athletes competed from 19 to 24 July where 12 races were held in all conditions, from very little wind to stormy weather!
Our athlete, Dimitris Papaditriou won the Silver Medal in the U16 category and the 4th place of the general classification !
The big unlucky (unjustified) of the event was Pantelis Kyrpoglou, who on the last day started the races from the 2nd place of the overall ranking and had come to claim one of the 3 medals in the last race! Unfortunately, the judge from Israel deprived him of the medal, charging him with a 3rd whistle (all 3 times by the same judge!) and therefore invalidating him..
Finally, the 3rd participation of the Group, Yannis Georgakis finished in 48th place in the gold fleet.
