Dimitris Papadimitriou has been a member of the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club sailing team since 2010 and is one of the most dynamically rising and talented young sailors in our country., having received very important distinctions at both the domestic and international levels. He has been recognized worldwide, having deservedly won the title of World Champion, winning gold medals in World and European championships, in addition to the first places he has achieved in domestic competitions.
Dimitris Papadimitriou is one of the "portraits of tomorrow" in the show "Tomorrow's Great Things" by the Hellenic Film Directors' Association, which aired on Greek television.
With the apt title "Horizontas", Christos Karteris' show unfolds the portrait of Dimitris, a young athlete with great passion, dedication, love and high goals in sailing.
Dimitris talks about how his involvement with sailing began, the sacrifices and difficulties he faced, and the fulfillment that contact with the sea, the boat, and the wind brings him. Despite his young age, he shares the important experiences that the sport has given him, the strong relationship he has with his coach, Vangelis Chimonas, and with his club, the Vouliagmeni Sailing Club.
We are particularly proud of the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club for the ethos, personality and example that Dimitris offers to young people who want to get involved in sports. The goal of V.N.C. in all the sports it practices is to guide the athlete to create a complete personality based on noble competition, ethos, dedication to the goal and the high values that sports advocate. Dimitris is a living example of the philosophy of V.N.C.
