Vouliagmeni Nautical Club training resumes

Resumption of training at the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club

 Effective date August 26, 2020

Given the outbreak of Covid-19 cases, especially in the Southern Suburbs area, it is particularly important to take strict measures to effectively limit the spread of the virus.

Following a study of the recommendations of the Health Scientific Committee of the General Secretariat of Sports and advice from the National Organization for Public Health, the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club is implementing the following:

  1. Intensification of the disinfection of the Group's premises, with a specialized external team for microbial disinfection, in addition to the daily disinfection and cleaning carried out by Group personnel.
  2. Abstention from the V.N.C. for a period of 7 days from the day of return from the summer vacation of its administrative and athletic (coaches and officials) personnel.
  3. Return to work of employees and tax collectors upon presentation of a negative Covid-19 test.
  4. Conducting identification and recording of incoming persons, for immediate and valid tracking if necessary.
  5. Following this, a strict ban on entry for those who are not entitled to it.
  6. Entry limited to 2 people in the Offices.
  7. Temperature measurement of all those entering the Group.
  8. Use of masks by employees and coaches within the Group.
  9. Availability of antiseptic solutions in all areas.
  10. Continuation of the suspension of operations of locker rooms and gyms.

For the registration of athletes in the Schools and Competition Sections of the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club, the following apply:

  1. Athletes must remain outside the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club– and if possible under house arrest – for a period of 7 days after their return from summer vacation.

During this time, they should observe distancing measures and be vigilant, so that if there are even mild symptoms, they should visit the doctor, or if there has been a person in their environment who has tested positive for coronavirus, they should follow the instructions of the National Public Health Organization.

In the event that an athlete has contracted coronavirus, a complete cardiological check-up is necessary before returning to training, as emphasized in the relevant instructions of the Ministry of Health and Sports-General for Safe Sports, which have been posted on the General Health and Sports website, at the following link: https://gga.gov.gr/component/content/article/278-covid/2981-covid19-sports.

  1. For all athletes in Schools and Competition Sections, it is necessary to perform a Covid-19 PCR test before the start of training. The negative result must be presented before the first day of training.

Given its collaboration with the Biomedical Group, V.N.C. has ensured that its athletes can undergo the PCR Covid-19 test at a price of 60 Euros, with sampling at the Group's facilities at a specific time.

For those who want to participate in the group PCR test as described above, they should contact the Sports Schools Secretariat.

  1. To register an athlete at the Sports Schools and in addition to what is described in #1 & #2, it is necessary to present a medical certificate stating that the child can participate in sports activities.
  2. For registration in the competition sections, and in addition to what is described in #1 & #2, it is necessary to renew the athlete's Health Card by completing a medical history from the General Secretariat (see attached pre-competition form).

Especially for athletes who have tested positive in a Covid-19 PCR test or have fallen ill (even with mild, short-term symptoms) in the last month before the start of training, they must undergo extensive clinical and laboratory cardiological testing.

Training for the sports held at the V.N.C. swimming pool (swimming, technical swimming, artistic swimming, water polo) will begin on Monday, August 31, while for the sports of sailing and windsurfing they will begin on Saturday, September 5.

The safety of all of us is based on our good cooperation and a high sense of individual responsibility.

Together, we can stop the spread!
