The Vouliagmeni Nautical Club announces with great pleasure the first signing for the women's water polo team, welcoming the athlete Ekaterina Tankeeva to the A1 women's team.
Ekaterina Tankeeva was born on 28 June 1989, comes from Russia and plays as a wing-back. She has been a key member of her country's national team for more than a decade, culminating in her participation in the 2012 London Olympics. She has won two gold medals with Russia at European championships.
The Russian athlete started her career at Storm Chekhov and continued at Hadi Mansiysk before making the big step to the Italian Rapallo. She competed with Roma of Italy for three seasons and last year she played for Spanish club Sampantel.
After signing her contract with V.N.C., Ekaterina Tankeeva said: "I am excited and proud to be part of the Vouliagmeni team. I hope to pass on my experience and help my team as much as possible to achieve the highest goals. I thank V.N.C. for the great opportunity and I can't wait for the new season to start.".
